In an un-named city, a ruthless gang of female criminals rule the streets – The Roaring Girls. At the Burlesque Floriel, a trio of actresses perform a song and dance spectacle based on the gang whilst in the better part of town, Lord Hollowmere, his dissolute son and forthright daughter have suspicious links to The Roaring Girls. Meanwhile the beautiful Benson have been bred and trained to make perfect wives, are on the relentless and tiresome search for a suitable husband.
The Roaring Girls is a play about what we are and what we pretend to be in order to survive. It is a play about strong women and foolish, weak men. A mix of tragedy, comedy and adventure, laced with violence and original songs, The Roaring Girls tells the tale of how tragedy can be heartlessly glamorised.
