Lancaster Footlights present:
An amateur production by arrangement with Nick Hern Books
It's Sylvia and Marek's wedding day. But as the vodka flows and the guests hit the dancefloor, passions boil over.
Beth Steel's play Till the Stars Come Down is a heartbreaking and hilarious portrayal of a larger-than-life family struggling to come to terms with a changing world.
It was premiered at the National Theatre, London, in January 2024, directed by Bijan Sheibani. The production transferred to the West End in 2025.
This play is published by Faber & Faber.
★★★★★ 'Stunning… a modern classic… a magnificent combination of earthiness and explosions of half-suppressed emotion… It's a mighty achievement'
The Times
★★★★★ 'Riveting… one moment it's coarse humour and cackles, the next a consciousness of immense spans of time, and the mysteries of the universe… a triumph'
Telegraph.
