Terms and Conditions for Online Ticket Sales
Lancaster Grand Theatre strives to ensure all information on this website is accurate and up-to-date.
Definitions
- "Booking": Refers to the process of purchasing Tickets on the Theatre’s website.
- "Theatre": Refers to the Board of Trustees and members of Lancaster Footlights and Grand Theatre CIO, legal owners of the Grand Theatre, St Leonardgate, Lancaster, LA1 1NL.
- "Contract": Any agreement between you and the Theatre for the purchase of Tickets.
- "Confirmation": The email sent to you detailing your booking reference, event details (including venue, date, seat number, and position), and the total price.
- "Tickets": Tickets sold by the Theatre for live, staged performances. Each Ticket represents one seat.
Our Contract with You
These Terms and Conditions govern all Contracts.
Your Contract with the Theatre is formed as follows:
- 2.1: Completing the Booking process (including providing payment details) constitutes your offer to purchase Tickets under these Terms.
- 2.2: Once your Booking is received, the Theatre’s system verifies your details and processes payment. Upon successful payment, a Confirmation email is sent to finalize the Contract. If you do not receive this email, please contact the Theatre box office promptly.
Ticket prices and availability are listed on the website. Online bookings incur a 6% booking fee.
You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of your Booking details. Any changes to your details after purchase must be reported to the Theatre.
If you are booking on behalf of a group, you agree to these Terms on behalf of all group members and are responsible for all associated payments.
Online booking services are available only to individuals aged 18 or over. By submitting a Booking, you confirm compliance with this requirement.
The Theatre reserves the right to limit the number of Tickets per order.
You are responsible for checking the accuracy of your Confirmation email.
Availability of Seats Online
Certain bookings, including special offers, discounted tickets, group bookings, wheelchair spaces, and carer seats, cannot be purchased online. Please contact the box office directly for these bookings.
Terms of Payment
All Tickets must be paid for in full at the time of booking.
Delivery Options
Tickets can be:
- Printed at home.
- Posted to you for an additional charge of £1.70.
- Collected from the box office during opening hours (Monday–Saturday, 10:00–15:00, or 45 minutes before the show).
Alterations and Cancellations
Tickets cannot be refunded unless a performance is cancelled or abandoned before halfway. In such cases, refunds are limited to the face value of the Tickets.
The Theatre reserves the right to make changes to advertised cast or arrangements due to unforeseen circumstances.
Unwanted Tickets may be returned to the Box Office for resale if the show is sold out. A refund is issued only if the Tickets are successfully resold.
- Amendments to your Booking are subject to a £1 administration fee.
Ticket Discount and Promotional Offer Disclaimer
Please note that promotional offers, including discount codes and reduced-price ticket promotions, are only valid for purchases made during the specified promotional period. These offers cannot be applied retroactively to tickets purchased at the standard price prior to the start of the promotion.
If you have purchased tickets at the original price and a promotion is introduced afterwards, we regret that we are unable to offer a refund or price adjustment.
Resale of Tickets
Tickets cannot be resold. See Section 6.3 for information on returning unwanted Tickets.
Liabilities of the Theatre
The Theatre is liable only for direct losses arising from:
- Breach of these Terms.
- Fraudulent statements or negligence under the Contract.
Liability is limited to the total face value of the Tickets.
The Theatre is not liable for:
- Events beyond its control, including natural disasters, strikes, power failures, or equipment malfunctions.
- Losses incurred through the use of the website or inability to access it.
Website Use
The website is for personal, non-commercial use. Reproduction or modification of its content without permission is prohibited.
Linking to the website for unlawful or harmful purposes is not allowed.
Altering the website or uploading harmful material is strictly prohibited.
Links to Third-Party Sites
The Theatre is not responsible for the content, products, or services offered on third-party websites linked from its site.
Data Protection
The Theatre complies with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) regarding the collection, use, and storage of your personal information.
Entire Agreement
These Terms represent the entire agreement between you and the Theatre. Variations are only valid if agreed in writing by both parties.
Severability
If any part of these Terms is deemed unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
Safety and Enjoyment
The Theatre reserves the right to refuse admission or remove individuals if necessary. Security searches may be conducted.
Latecomers may only be admitted at suitable breaks in the performance.
Wheelchair spaces are available in the front stalls only.
Glass containers are not permitted in the auditorium.
Mobile phones, pagers, and watches must be silenced before entering the auditorium.
Only valid Tickets will grant admission.
Strobe lighting, smoke effects, and gunshots may be used during performances.
Photography, video recording, or audio recording is prohibited unless expressly permitted.
Governing Law
These terms and conditions and any Contract concluded incorporating these terms and conditions shall be governed by English Law and all disputes shall be submitted to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
Please note that tickets purchased from unofficial websites, ticketing agencies, or social media platforms will be invalid, and entry may be refused.
