A Night to Say Thank You: Celebrating the Heart of Lancaster Grand Theatre

On Wednesday 16th April, Lancaster Footlights and the Grand Theatre CIO opened the doors not for a performance, but for something just as special—our annual Thank You & Feedback Evening. The night brought together our dedicated community of volunteers, staff, and members for an evening of celebration, recognition, and reflection.

The event was a heartfelt opportunity to look back on the past year’s achievements and, most importantly, shine a spotlight on the incredible individuals who make the magic happen—onstage, backstage, front of house and beyond. Whether they’ve been part of the theatre family for decades or joined just recently, their time, energy, and passion continue to be the lifeblood of our thriving venue.

From those who juggle multiple roles behind the scenes to those quietly keeping everything ticking along, we honoured the heart and soul of the Grand. Several individuals were awarded lifetime Footlights memberships, a small token of our gratitude for their unwavering commitment and long-standing service.

Trustees also shared updates on current projects, future plans, and how their own volunteering time is helping secure a bright future for the theatre. And for the first time, attendees were given a glimpse into the results of our brand-new staff, member, and volunteer survey—highlighting what’s working well and where we can grow together.

The evening, complete with a free buffet, welcome drinks, and a joyful atmosphere, was a chance to come together not just as colleagues, but as a community.
