SHAPE THE FUTURE OF LANCASTER GRAND THEATRE – Trustee & Chair Roles

Lancaster’s much-loved Grand Theatre — the third-oldest working theatre in the UK — is opening its doors to new Trustees and a future Chair of the Board, with applications now open for appointment this autumn.
The volunteer-led charity, Lancaster Footlights & Grand Theatre CIO, is inviting people from all walks of life to consider bringing their passion, skills and experience to help guide the future of the iconic venue.
Chair of Trustees, Mark Hutton, said:
“Joining our Board means playing a vital role in the ongoing story of Lancaster Grand Theatre — a venue that brings joy to thousands of people every year. We are looking for Trustees and a future Chair who reflect the diversity of our community and bring fresh perspectives, skills and ideas to the team.”
Prospective Trustees and Chairs are warmly invited to attend a Coffee Morning at the theatre on Saturday 12th July at 9.30am, a relaxed opportunity to meet current Board members, explore the venue, and find out more about the roles available.
Applications are open until 12 noon on Friday 15th August. The Board is particularly seeking skills in areas such as Youth Engagement, EDI, Safeguarding, Environment & Sustainability, ICT & Data, Fundraising and Grants, Arts & Heritage, Facilities Management, and Legal Compliance, but welcomes interest from anyone passionate about contributing to the theatre’s mission.
Lancaster Footlights & Grand Theatre CIO is a volunteer-led charity responsible for the operation of the 460-seat Grade II-listed venue, staging over 250 events each year and hosting an active community of more than 200 members, volunteers and staff.
